Seven Days of Creation |
| The First Day of Creation |
On the first day of Creation, the Great Spirit filled the darkness with light. The Great Spirit bound this light together to form the Sun, and from the Sun, the essence of the Great Spirit stretched it's fingers throughout, creating all that exists. The darkness fell into the abyss where chaos dwelled. When darkness and chaos met, gravity was created, and from gravity, matter came together. The Great Spirit was pleased with it's creation, the Sun, for its light was warm and soothing. The Sun was made to rule the universe, so that its light may touch all things. The Great Spirit clothed itself in the Divine Light of its creation, and so, the Great Spirit became all that exists. The Great Spirit had been without form up to this point, filling the void of darkness and chaos, circulating throughout the entire cosmos, and spiraling to its center like an ethereal serpent, endlessly. The first thought, "I Exist," brought with it the beginning of consciousness. The Great Spirit had been unaware of its own presence up to this point, though it had been the first and will be the last to exist. On this day, the universe was set into motion. Now, the universe moved according to the Great Spirit's command. Darkness and chaos were beyond the sun's limitless light, dwelling in the abyss which existed without the Great Spirit. The Great Spirit held these things together so that the universe may have unity, and as it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end; that the creative consciousness, which is the Great Spirit, shall have divinity. Thus, the first day of Creation was complete. |
| The Second Day of Creation |
On the second day of Creation, the Great Spirit bound the light from the sun, and from this, the moon was formed. The moon was equal in brilliance as the sun, and together they would bring balance to the universe. The Great Spirit was pleased with its creation, the moon. As the divine light of the sun clothed the Great Spirit, so too would the moon become the crown, and so as it was, the sun and the moon fell into harmony with the universe. This harmony created a resonance from which the spirits came into existence. The spirits had no place, as of yet, and so they roamed without direction. The moon had become envious of the sun, and wanted to be the sole brilliance which illuminated the whole of the universe, and so, the sun was challenged for supremacy. A great battle erupted which shook the very foundation and threatened to collapse the universe. The Great Spirit had become angry at the moon and cast out her light into the far region of the universe so that only one-sixth of her brilliance remained. From this, the stars were formed. The stars were set into motion so that they would follow the laws of the universe. Thus, the second day of Creation was complete. |
| The Third Day of Creation |
On the third day of Creation, the Great Spirit created the heavens. The heavens were divided into twelve houses. The houses lay beneath the place of stars. The sun and the moon would pass through each house accordingly, and this would create the cycle of the year and month, respectively. Understand that day and night had existed on the first day, but the Great Spirit had not yet named them. Day and night were taken and divided into twenty-four hours. Twelve hours were given to the day, and twelve hours were given to the night. The sun was made to rule over the day, and the moon ruled the night. With the day there would by light, and with the night, darkness came. The sun was given command over the hours, and the moon would govern the months which passed throughout the year. From the twelve houses, the planets were made, each in turn according to its place in the universe. The planets were allocated to the houses by which they resonated. The Great Spirit set the planets into motion. All these things filled the universe as the Great Spirit had commanded. By these things, the universe was a living creature. The Great Spirit was pleased with it's creation. Thus, the third day of Creation was complete. |
| The Fourth Day of Creation |
On the fourth day of Creation, the Great Spirit created the elements, from the planets. The first element was fire. With fire, the Great Spirit burned the universe to cleanse it of all impurities. The second element was water. With water, the Great Spirit quenched the burning universe, and when this was complete, the universe had a more brilliant glow. The third element was air. With air, the Great Spirit formed the sky by which the heavens would be placed. The fourth element was earth. With earth, the Great Spirit would create the foundation of the universe. At this point, the seasons came into existence. Now the seasons had no direction, and so their movement was wild and chaotic. The Great Spirit took control of the seasons, and placed them according to the elements which best suited their nature. After this being done, the Great Spirit would place the elements into the direction from which they would govern the seasons. The elements would lay beneath the planets as the planets would lay beneath the houses. Each creation had its place in the universe, and the universe was not complete without them. The elements were the last creation of the universe, though not all had been complete. There was still much work to be done before the Great Spirit was pleased with it's grand creation. Thus, the fourth day of Creation was complete. |
| The Fifth Day of Creation |
On the fifth day of Creation, the Great Spirit cleansed the world with fire as was done to the universe. With water, a great flood washed over the world and quenched the fire which burned it. All that remained were the rivers, lakes and oceans. With air, the sky was set into motion, and the winds were made to blow. With earth, nature was created, and with nature, came life. The first life were the plants, flowers and trees. Next, the Great Spirit would fill the world with creatures of every kind. The elements were placed in the four corners of the world from which the seasons would be governed. As the seasons would govern the world's cycle, the sun was given command over those seasons. There would be four seasons for every year, and in that year, twelve months were given. The world was given a place at the center of the universe. Everything in the universe had its place and the order by which all things existed. The Great Spirit was pleased with its creation. Thus, the fifth day of Creation was complete. |
| The Sixth Day of Creation |
On the sixth day of Creation, the Great Spirit created Man and Woman from the elements. With fire, Man and Woman were given a single spirit which was shared between them, to hold their true nature. With water, Man and Woman were given emotion which was shared between them, so that desire could be expressed. With air, Man and Woman were given consciousness which was shared between them, which gave way to thoughts. With earth, Man and Woman were given separate bodies, so that they could come together in love and peace. Man was masculine and woman was feminine. Man was the hunter and woman was the life-giver. Man was strong and woman was beautiful. The Great Spirit breathed life into Man and Woman and an awareness was given to them. Man and Woman were given the world as their domain. They were equals, and not one was greater than the other. The place of nature was their first home. It's here where Man and Woman first coupled. The Great Spirit was pleased with its creation. Thus, the sixth day of Creation was complete. |
| The Seventh Day of Creation |
On the seventh day of Creation, the Great Spirit created the God and Goddess. The Great Spirit did not create the God and Goddess out of nothing. They were created from the Great Spirit. The God and Goddess were created in the likeness of Man and Woman. This was the Great Spirit's final creation and gift to all living things. The Great Spirit had seen that Man and Woman were without direction, and by this, they had no wisdom. The gift of spirituality was presented. As God and Goddess were created in the image of Man and Woman, so to would Man and Woman devote spirituality to the Great Spirit. By this, they would come to know their Creator, and give thanks. By the Great Spirit, the God and Goddess are one...and so, all the days of creation had come to an end, and the Great Spirit was pleased. Thus, the seventh and final day of Creation was complete. |
