Ritual of the Circle

I

"I light this candle in honour of the God.
As it burns may his presence be known."

II

Beginning in the east, cast the circle about the boundary in the direction of the sun, being visualized in a brilliant silver glow of Divine radiance as you say...

"I cast this circle as it was in the beginning
and so shall be in the end,
that all things created shall be within,
and all things which lay in the abyss shall be without,
as a place divine,
bestowed upon me by the Great Spirit."

III

Light the incense, and allow it to perfume the temple. Take the incense to the eastern boundary of the circle. Allow the smoke to perfume thereabout as you say...

"By Fire and Air, I cleanse this circle
against all impurities of the Spirit."

"By Fire and Air, I cleanse this circle
against all impurities of the Spirit."

"By Fire and Air, I cleanse this circle
against all impurities of the Spirit."

"By Fire and Air, I cleanse this circle
against all impurities of the Spirit."

"By Water and Earth, I cleanse this circle
against all impurities of the Spirit."

"By Water and Earth, I cleanse this circle
against all impurities of the Spirit."

against all impurities of the Spirit."

V

"I invoke you, Father Creator, to be here now.
Bestow your presence
upon this Sacred Circle and guard its boundary
against all impurities of the Spirit."

Draw before you the Pentagram of Invoking Fire, in a red flame, its glow tinted in green. Move to the southern boundary of the circle and say...

"I invoke you, Mother Nature, to be here now.
Bestow your presence
upon this Sacred Circle and guard its boundary
against all impurities of the Spirit."

Draw before you the Pentagram of Invoking Water, in a blue flame, its glow tinted in orange. Move to the western boundary of the circle and say...

"I invoke you, Father Sky, to be here now.
Bestow your presence
upon this Sacred Circle and guard its boundary
against all impurities of the Spirit."

Draw before you the Pentagram of Invoking Air, in a yellow flame, its glow tinted in violet. Move to the northern boundary of the circle and say...

"I invoke you, Mother Earth, to be here now.
Bestow your presence
upon this Sacred Circle and guard its boundary
against all impurities of the Spirit."

Draw before you the Pentagram of Invoking Earth, in a black flame, its glow tinted in white. Return to your place.

VI

Lift up your arms, out to either side. Illuminate the golden light from your heart and expand it throughout the Circle creating a link between you and the Divine as you say...

"In perfect harmony and perfect balance,
bless this Sacred Circle for I now stand upon holy ground."

VII

"I invoke you, God and Goddess,
into this Sacred Circle to aid me
in this Rite of Communion
and to bestow your presence
upon me by Fire, Water, Air, and Earth."

XII

"To you, God and Goddess,
I give this offering, for whom without
your presence this blessing would not be possible.
Lift up your shroud,
and depart in peace, by Fire, Water, Air, and Earth."

XIII

"I send you my blessing, Father Creator,
for your presence in this Sacred Circle.
Depart in peace."

Draw before you the Pentagram of Banishing Fire, in a red flame, its glow tinted in green. Move to the southern boundary of the circle and say..

"I send you my blessing, Mother Nature,
for your presence in this Sacred Circle.
Depart in peace."

Draw before you the Pentagram of Banishing Water, in a blue flame, its glow tinted in orange. Move to the western boundary of the circle and say...

"I send you my blessing, Father Sky,
for your presence in this Sacred Circle.
Depart in peace."

Draw before you the Pentagram of Banishing Air, in a yellow flame, it's glow tinted in violet. Move to the northern boundary of the circle and say...

"I send you my blessing, Mother Earth,
for your presence in this Sacred Circle.
Depart in peace."

Draw before you the Pentagram of Banishing Earth, in a black flame, its glow tinted in white. Return to your place.

Take the Sacred Water, and move to the eastern boundary of the circle. Sprinkle the Sacred Water thereabout as you say...

"By Water and Earth, I cleanse this circle
against all impurities of the Spirit."

Move to the southern boundary of the circle. Sprinkle the Sacred Water thereabout as you say...

"By Water and Earth, I cleanse this circle
against all impurities of the Spirit."
