Christian Witchcraft

Is it possible to be Christian and practice Witchcraft?  Yes, but there are conflicting ideas which must first be resolved. Christianity states "You shall worship no other God before me," while in Witchcraft the Goddess is often placed first. Christianity states that the Devil is wicked while in Witchcraft there is no Devil. Christianity states than sinners will burn in Hell while Witchcraft has no belief in hell or sin. Christianity states that Magick is detestable to God while Witchcraft practices this art with Divine aid.

You must find a happy medium between the practice of Witchcraft and Christianity.  If you're public about your beliefs be aware that you'll get bashed by most people.  Also keep in mind that most people are foolish and only spout ridicule that they heard from someone else.  Now why is it that people will tell you that Christianity took it's beliefs from Paganism but when a Pagan chooses to blend Christianity into his or her belief system these same people throw a fit?  If Christianity is based on ancient Pagan beliefs then it wouldn't matter, right?  Also keep in mind that no religion is pure in its beliefs.  How many times have conquering societies adopted beliefs from the people they have conquered.  If you've combined Christianity and Witchcraft, know that you've done nothing wrong.  History has many examples of religious beliefs blending ideas.  This should be your argument if you face adversity.

Wiccans in particular say that their beliefs are ancient when in fact Wicca is a new religion based on ancient ideas gathered from Celtic, Greek, Hindu and Native American cultures so who's to say that you can't adapt Christianity and Witchcraft?  No religious idea is static.  Beliefs change over time and by your choice of combining Witchcraft and Christianity, it should have no impact on your current social concepts of spirituality.  They are only personal beliefs and should have no affect on how you live your life but instead they should guide you.  Isn't this what spirituality is all about?

So is it wrong to combine Christianity and Witchcraft?  No because like all things must evolve over time and where ideas are concerned, new thoughts are always added.  How else is a person meant to grow spiritually if his or her belief is not allowed to grow through lessons learned and life experienced?  All things must change over time or wilt and die.  Perhaps this is what's happening to the Church in these current days.  Leave it to the Pagans to keep their beliefs alive.
