Bloody Mary

Have you done it?  Have you stood in front of a mirror in a dark room lit only by candle lights?  I remember hearing stories like this in my youth.  I remember over hearing someone in Mrs. Carruthers class confessing that he saw Bloody Mary.  Is there any truth to this legend or is it made up to scare children during a sleepover?  There are many who have been labeled with being the face in the mirror.  Queen Mary Tudor, the Virgin Mary, Mary Magdalene, Mary Worth.  It's an interesting fact (which I know from personal experience) that if you gaze at your face long enough in the mirror your feature begin to change.  I've done a ritual to see who I was in the past and observed how my face changed so dramatically that at one point I even had facial hair.  I've worked another ritual to see in the mirror who would be the woman I marry.  With no surprise the mirror was empty of any reflection other than myself.

The earliest account I can find historically begins with Queen Mary Tudor who was a fanatical purist of the Catholic faith.  She was ruthless in executing anyone she deemed as not being a true Catholic or committed heresy.  She was responsible for killing nearly three hundred people, including former Archbishop of Canterbury who was a high standing member of society.  These executions earned her the name "Bloody Mary."

I don't believe in the Blood Mary myth.  Why would someone who lived so long ago appear to you, most likely in the restroom or bedroom mirror of a home she has no association with?  The name, Bloody Mary, may be a corruption of "Bloody Mirror."  The ritual of Bloody Mary is a stripped down evocation.  Yes, you can call spirits into a mirror including those who have been created by your own imaginings and fed with the proper energy so if Bloody Mary does appear to someone, it's only out of his or her creation, but as far as I'm concerned, Bloody Mary is just an urban myth.

A continuous chant allows your mind to remain open to astral influences which can manifest in a dark reflection or your mind can just play tricks on you. As a matter of fact, as I write this article I keep looking behind me because I feel something looking over my shoulder and on occasion I see something moving which grabs my attention.
