I want to clear things up about the Blue Moon. People have odd notions about it's meaning. What causes a Blue Moon? Is the Blue Moon a good time to work Magick? Why is the Blue Moon so special? The Blue Moon may not be what you think it is. The idea of the Blue Moon comes from the lunar calendar. There are twelve months, like in any other standard calendar, but with one difference. The lunar calendar has a habit of falling away from the solar, Gregorian Calendar, which we use to tell the seasons. The Blue Moon occurs when there are two full moons in a single month. In order to correct this, an extra month was added to shift the lunar calendar back to it's proper working order. This extra month was named the Blue Moon.
