This month, let's take a look at a Christian belief, since they throw it our way so often in accusation. The book of Revelation makes the claim that the number 666 is the number of the Beast., but what does this really mean? To understand this, you have to understand the process of Gematria. Hebrew letters have a numeral equivalent, since characters don't exist to express those ideas separately. For example, Ah is 1, Beth is 2, and so on.
The basis behind this principle is that the Hebrew language can be expressed through number values, and these can further express ideas of a divine nature. For example, the name of God, Yahweh, can be expressed in it's original form as YHWH, which equals 26. Any word (in Hebrew) which also equals 26 is said to be in relation. A good book to read on this subject is Godwin's Cabalistic Encyclopedia.
Honestly, no number is really wicked, in any sense. The number, 666, is a sacred number relating to the sun. This is detemined by using the Kamea (Magick Square) of the Sun, where all the numbers added equal 666.
| 6 | 32 | 3 | 34 | 35 | 1 |
| 7 | 11 | 27 | 28 | 8 | 30 |
| 19 | 14 | 16 | 15 | 23 | 24 |
| 18 | 20 | 22 | 21 | 17 | 13 |
| 25 | 29 | 10 | 9 | 26 | 12 |
| 36 | 5 | 33 | 4 | 2 | 31 |
Now returning to the idea of 666 being the number of the Beast, how is this applied to the same understanding? It's difficult finding a word or sentence, for that matter, which can equal any number, but one such phrase which equals 666, is Shem Yaheshuah. This is translated as the name of Jesus. Shocked? Can it be that Christians worship the same Beast they so often fear?
