A Note to Parents

So you've discovered your child's interest in Magick and the Occult. Now what? Do you call on the local clergy to rid your child of demons in an attempt to set him/her straight or do you take the time to understand? Take a moment and breathe...relax...rationalize the situation.

Now let's think logically. What wicked purpose would be accomplished by the worship of such evil forces? in fact, what's the logic behind such thoughts on worshipping evil to begin with? Don't immediately turn to your religious text searching for an answer which is only one-sided. You're an adult, and a concerned parent, and I can understand how frightenning the idea of your child studying Magick and the Occult can be, but as adults, we should keep the child's safety in mind first.

You may be wondering who I am. I'm just like you. There are times when I'm happy and times when I'm sad. Like you, I have my own worries. I worry about making ends meet, about paying bills on time, about taking care of my body and mind. Like you, I work to make money. I get sick. I care for my family and they care for me. I have my likes and dislikes. I eat regularly. I laugh and I cry. I love and feel loved. I joke and fall victim to someone else's sense of humour, and I'm serious when I need to be. I live the best life that I can, and I help those in need. I'm human, just like you.

There's no difference between you and I, not even in our spiritual pursuit. You and I both seek to attain a higher consciousness and self-improvement, so why should I be condemned and you be allowed to practice that concept without ridicule? Why should your child not be allowed to pursue the same ideas? I'm not here trying to change your opinions of Magick and the Occult. All I'm trying to do is get you to listen to what your child has to say. You must admit that a child needs direction in life, and what better way to allow this than to understand your child's interests?

I'm not saying that you should adopt the same ideas, but just know what interests your child has discovered. Life is all about self-discovery, and it's often difficult to share your joy with parents who would often condemn and riducule you for them. This is the same as discouraging. By getting involved in what your child's interests have become, this will allow you to limit only certain texts for your son/daughter to read. There's alot of crap out there, and much of it is filled with fluff, so I would recommend that you censor certain reading material which you may find to be offensive or cult-related.

Remember that Magick is a spiritual pursuit, and your child's upbringing will develop what lies ahead. I've seen many who have turned to Magick in rebellion against their parents, only to shock and frighten. This will not be the case if you learn what your child learns. Your child's interest may be just a passing fad which is often the case. However, there are a few who are sincere in wanting to pursue the philosophies of Magick throughout their lives. Don't panick. They won't be condemned to Hell for seeking a spiritual path. Don't you also seek that path?

Let's assume that the source of all Divine equalled the number, 10. How many ways can you add up to 10?

1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1=10
2+2+2+2+2=10
1+2+3+4=10
3+3+4=10
5+5=10
3+7=10

There are so many ways to add up to 10, just as there are so many ways to attain the source of what's Divine. Not one way is better than another. Just because your child may not want to follow in your religious path doesn't mean that it's wrong. Remember that people often think that a miracle is only holy when viewed from their own understanding, and if this same miracle occurs from another view, such as with Magickal intent, then it's often condemned for not being shared by the same view. So tell me, is there any single way to add up to 10 better than any other method from the samples I offered above?

If Magick were harmful, then I would not have created this website. I've been deeply involved in my studies since I was ten, and not once have I ever succumbed to the need to sacrifice an animal, or murder my family in the name of Satan which doesn't even belong to thoughts of Magick. Thoughts of such wickedness has no purpose to a spiritual path. In other words, there's no such thing as evil in regard to spirituality. I have already pointed out the fact that you and I are the same; human. Would you allow a child to be harmed? I would not think so, nor would I allow such a thing to happen.
